Africa Hotel Expansion Summit 2014 championed course for hospitality advancement

The Africa Hotel Expansion Summit 2014 held at Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra, Ghana championed positive ways for the hospitality stakeholders in Africa for the well over 200 participants in attendance.

The summit provided an opportunity for the participants among who are government officials, construction experts, hotel investors, consultants and senior hospitality managers to discuss the latest trend on hotel expansion and project the better ways to explore and support the hotel expansion projects.

The conference producer, Barbara Cornelissen reiterated the fact that the summit was packaged by Noppen Company Ltd as a way to champion the course of developing the hotel expansion project globally.

She commended the participants for their positive steps to cross-fertilise ideas and assured that the forum will be of great source of imparting knowledge on the delegates.

Notable speakers and panelists at the Africa Hotel Expansion Summit included Mr. Trevor Ward, Managing Director, W Hospitality Group, Hotel Partners Africa, Mr. Samson Donoh, Executive Director, Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Neil George, Senior Vice-President, Acquisitions & Development for Africa and Middle East, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Bruce Potter, General Manager, Holiday Inn, Accra and Mr. Stuart Cook, Managing Director/ Co-Owner, Protea Hotels Uganda.

Among the speakers and panelists are Mr. Uzoma Nwakwo, CEO, AiQ Capital Management, Mr. Peter Penev, Acquisitions & Development, Hyatt Hotels, Ms. Lorraine Jenks, Founder, Hotelstuff, Mr. Patrick Fares, CEO, Royal Airport Hotel, Accra, Mr. Amaechi Ndili, Chairman, Golden Tulip West Africa and Ms. Zahra Peera, Senior Vice President, Accor Hotels.

The general manager, Fiesta Royale Hotel, Accra, Leonie Herselman commended the organizer of the summit and said the forum as really imparted desired knowledge that can propelled her to attain greater achievements at her management capacity at Fiesta Royale Hotel.

In his comment, Mr. Victor Hagan, former director, Ministry of Tourism, Ghana and Director Marketing, M Plaza Hotel, Accra confirmed that the two-day summit surpassed his expectation with large turnout of participants that cut across all the continents.

Hagan affirmed that speakers, panelists and participants really discussed and touched all major points of interest on hotel expansion which will be of great benefits to him.

In her own view, Stephanie Ansah, personal assistant to the General Manager, Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra applauded the organizer and attributed the success of the summit to the desired and special interest of the participants to see to the advancement of hospitality sector in Africa.

In his closing remark, the marketing manager, Noppen (Shanghai) Co. Ltd, Mr. Dennis Bridgeforth disclosed that the company will not relent in their efforts to make sure the next edition of the summit will attracts more delegates counting on the positive responses of the delegates and success of the summit held in Accra.
