NCAC to support Nigeria of My Dream school project

As part of its mandate to promote art and culture at all levels in the country, the Director-General of National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe has promised to support "Nigeria of my dream", a non-profit organization aimed at inculcating the right values in children irrespective of social and ethic leanings.

The DG made the declaration when he hosted a delegation from the organization at the Arts and Culture headquarters in Garki, Abuja.

Nigeria of my dream school project initiator, Mrs. Ngozi Nd-Alichi earlier congratulated the Director-General over his well deserved appointment as the CEO of NCAC.

While making her remarks, she said the project aims at adding value to the children both able and the physically challenged so that they can become good and patriotic citizens contributing their quarter towards a better Nigeria. She observed that the project is all inclusive stressing that the idea is to arm children at all levels with the right value orientation in order to have a better society.

She further said, "when respect and honour are incorporated in the children, the society stands a better chance".

Responding, the Arts and Culture helmsman pledged to give the project all the necessary support saying, "if all our youths are morally sound, the society will be a better place for all".

Still driving home his point, the DG who now represents a champion of Culture in Nigeria, was emphatic when he admitted, "with such laudable projects like this, crime, thuggery and other social vices will be minimized". He promised to promote any event that highlights our value and diverse cultural heritage with patriotic zeal.

Earlier on, Mr. Peter Igho, former Director-General, National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) who happened to be the patron of the project, eulogized the DG (NCAC) for his vision to always make a difference anywhere he serves. Interestingly, both Peter Igho and Runsewe coincidentally are traditional title holders from Kebbi State.
