NSEC sets for 2nd national conference in Abeokuta

Nigeria Society for Environmental Conservation (NSEC) as a group of students studying forestry, wildlife and environmental related courses in tertiary institutions in Nigeria are sets to hold their National Conference at Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta on 25-27 May, 2017.

In a release from the national President, Hammed Akande stated that the theme of the conference is: "Conservation without Constraint - CWC 2017".

He highlighted that the society creates opportunities for students in different parts of Nigeria to interact and learn from each other, as well as involve and engage in practical aspects of biodiversity conservation and environmental education.

"The Society is proposing her second national conference to create avenue for her members across Nigeria to meet, interact and deliberate some biodiversity and environmental issues in the country", Akande disclosed.

The first day will compose of workshops where specialists will give training and present papers on selected topics. A social night will be organised in the night of the first day to facilitate collaboration and interaction among the participants.

There will be Oral and poster presentations by the students and young professionals, and quiz competitions among selected tertiary institutions in Nigeria will hold on the second day. All the registered participants at the conference will be given certificate of participation.

"The Programme will allow students from different part of the country to interact and learn from each other while at the same time allowing them to learn about conservation, wildlife and environmental education, and to contribute their knowledge and skills to a worthy cause. The team for the conference will compose of all the members of the NSEC group in collaboration with FUNAAB ZOO PARK", Akande concluded.
