Reunion Island Tourism showcases at WTM Africa 2017

The World Travel Market (WTM) Africa 2017 is taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), it will bring some of the most prominent exhibitors and professionals within the hospitality, travel and tourism industry together, and Reunion Island Tourism Board is set to take centre stage.

Located in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar and 175 kilometres southwest of Mauritius, Reunion Island is a region of France and is known for its remarkable diversity of landscapes and cultures.

According to UNESCO, 40% of the territory of the Reunion Island is classified as a World Heritage Site, providing a wonderful mix of authentic cultures and wild nature. Furthermore the island is renowned for its volcanic, rain forested interior, offshore reefs, and adventure activities.

"It is important for us to engage and be active participants in initiatives such as WTM Africa which allows us to begin conversations with the aim of harnessing strategic trade relationships and raise the profile for our unique destination. South Africa is a very important source market for us and we are keen to do what we can to encourage more people to visit our beautiful island", says Stephane Bonneau, Head of Marketing & Promotion Indian Ocean & Asia.

Travel trade professionals will have the opportunity to meet and interact at WTM Africa with the Reunion Island Tourism board and Reunion hospitality delegation from Diana Dea Lodge, Connections, LUX, Mille Tours, Yes we can travel, and Odysee.

An interactive presentation will be given in the Outbound Theatre at WTM Africa on 19 April at 15h30, and all who are interested in the destination are encouraged to attend this session.

In addition, an exclusive workshop is being held on 18 April, at the Cullinan Hotel, where the Reunion Island delegation and the tourism board has invited their top tour operators and partners to join them to engage in educational sessions about this ultimate Indian Ocean Island destination.
