South African Tourism network Nigeria travel trade stakeholders at Roadshow 2016 in Lagos

The South African Tourism (SAT) has unveiled new sets of the graduates who has successfully completed its official specialist programme and qualified as SA Specialists at the Roadshow 2016 held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos recently.

The Trade Relations Manager - West Africa, South African Tourism, Mr. Mohammed Kwajaffa disclosed that the SA Specialist programme is a self-study online course designed to equip travel product and service providers to sell South Africa more effectively.

In his brief address, Regional Manager - West Africa, South African Tourism, Mr. Hloni Pitso highlighted the primary objective of the SA Specialist programme as a way of having competent travel experts to advise clients on all essential aspects of travel to South Africa.

Pitso further admonished the SA Specialists to see their certification having been equipped by the course as an opportunity to promote and market South Africa as a foremost destination in Africa.

Prior to the presentation of certificates, there was a round-table Speed Networking Session where Nigeria travel stakeholders and travel agents were thoroughly briefed by SAT trade partners on various tourism potentials and their various services in South Africa.

The forum provided opportunity for speed networking and business card exchange. It was a unique opportunity for the SA Specialists to meet various South African travel trade professionals on business prospects and establishment of rewarding business relationship.

Among the organizations represented at the speed networking session are South African Airways (SAA), Kwazulu-Natal Sharks Board, Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, Saxon Hotels, Hilton HotelWorldwide and Syavaya.

The climax of the event was well organised raffle draw where five winners among the SA Specialists emerged. They will be sponsored on a week all expenses paid fam-trip to South Africa to have a practical experience of the country tourism potentials.

Also, there was a raffle draw session conducted for the media where Mr. Andrew Okungbowa of New Telegraph emerged as winner. He will also travel to South African on all expenses paid trip with his spouse.

Prominent among the guests who graced the occasion are Regional Director - Africa, South African Tourism, Evelyn Mahlaba; Sales Manager, South Africa Airways, Kemi Leke-Bamtefa; MPresident, National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), Mr. Bankole Bernards; President, Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP), Nkereuwem Onung; CEO, Topcomm Limited, Mr. Temitope Ogbeni-Awe and Organiser, Akwaaba African Travel Market, Mr. Ikechi Uko.
