Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Uja. Tor Uja in a tete-a-tete with NCPC Head of Media before departure to Israel, Rome and Greece for the 2016 pre-visit in preparation for this year general Pilgrimage Exercise at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja recently.

NCPC AND SCPWBS BEGIN PRE-VISIT TO ISRAEL ROME AND GREECE FOR THE 2016 CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE EXERCISE

In line with the Calendar of activities of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), every year the Commission and Chairmen and Secretaries of the state Christian Pilgrim Welfare Boards usually embark on Pre-visit to Israel, Rome and Greece at the second quarter of the year.

Pre-visit to Israel is one of the very important activities of the Commission as it affords the Commission and the State Chairmen and Secretaries of Christian Pilgrim Welfare Boards the opportunity of inspecting the facilities for this years pilgrimage exercise.

Facilities such as hotel accommodation, important Holy Sites, Cuisine, Transportation, inter-alia are all covered.

The Executive Secretary of NCPC, Rev. Tor Uja is leading the Stakeholders for the first time to attend this important function as the new Chief Executive of the Apex Christian Pilgrim Regulatory body in Nigeria.

Aside the State Chairmen and Secretaries, Nigerian representatives of procured Ground Handlers for this year's pilgrimage exercise will join their counterparts in Israel, Rome and Greece for this critical inspection assessment tour.

The programme commenced on 8th June, 2016 and will last for one week. In the programme of activity for the event, the Stakeholders led by the NCPC helmsman will kick start the inspection in Israel with a courtesy visit to the Charge of Affairs, Embassy of Nigeria in Tel Aviv, meeting with all the Ground Handlers, Air Carriers in Israel, also meeting with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Affairs.

After few days of activities in Israel, the delegation will depart for Greece where similar strategic meetings and inspection will be carried out with the Greek Officials while the delegation will depart for Rome and Vatican.

It is important to note that Pre-visit to Israel, Rome and Greece remains strategic as it affords Stakeholders the first hand opportunity of assessing the facilities on ground, especially in terms of quality and standard in line with the Commission's vision and mission; provision of excellent services and ensuring enhanced welfare to Nigeria Pilgrims in collaboration with various Stakeholders.

2016Pre-visit is also special as it will afford the NCPC boss the opportunity of meeting and interacting with all the Ground Handlers and Stakeholders in the Pilgrimage project in Israel, Rome and Greece.

This year's Pre-visit is being led by the Executive Secretary Rev. Tor Uja the Federal Commissioner North Central, Arch Bishop Numuel Babba, 50 Chairmen and Secretaries of SCPWBs, the Director of Administration of NCPC, Rev. Amos Yohanna and the Head, Planning Research and Programme development, Mr. Henry Ezike were part of the delegation.
