ETHIOPIAN AIRLINE MARKS SECOND YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF DIRECT FLIGHT TO ENUGU

The Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has hailed Ethiopian Airline, describing it as "Truly African Pride".

He said this while receiving Ethiopian Airline's team led by the country General Manager Mr Solomon Begashaw who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Enugu.

He commended the courage and commitment of the Airline in opening up the South East Region to the rest of the world for economic development while reducing the stress of business men and travelers through its direct flight to Akanu Ibiam International Airport.

This he said was in line with the desire of his administration to create enabling environment for investments and making Enugu a gateway to the South East Region is a welcomed development.

In his words, "Ethiopian Airline has shown that it is truly an African Pride and one of the best things to have happened to the people of Enugu and South East Region in general". The Airline's commitment to the socioeconomic development of the state is worth commending , he stated.

Governor Ugwuanyi while expressing appreciation, pledged to support all efforts geared towards making Enugu great and realising the dreams of founding fathers of the state.

Earlier, the General Manager of Ethiopian Airline in Nigeria, Mr Solomon Begashaw told the Governor that their visit was part of the activities marking second year anniversary of their direct flight to Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu and to appreciate the Government and people of Enugu State for their support in ensuring hitch-free operations since they commenced.

He also thanked the Federal Government for the upgrading of Akanu Ibiam Airport to an International Airport. He then handed over to the Governor a model aircraft as a symbol of partnership and pledged their support to the development of Enugu State.
